A year ago from today we released our EP The Best Has Yet To Come. Just wanted to say thank you to anyone who bought it or has supported our band in any way! It’s been a pretty crazy year for us, so thank you it really means a lot.
We’re gonna start tracking vocals for the split this week, we’re all really excited for how it’s coming out and we’re excited for everyone to hear it. We’ve got a lot of cool things planned for next year.
Line up changes usually suck. A lot of times they end up on bad terms and it’s overall not something a band likes to go through. However this line up change has no hard feelings, no one hates each other or anything. Two weeks ago Joey told us that he wants to go back to school full time and he won’t be playing in Giants At Large anymore. Our good friend Anthony Pasini will be taking over guitar duties in the band; if you were there at last nights show you saw him in action (and it ruled). Pasini and I have been friends for like four years now and have almost ended up in the same band twice before, so this was bound to happen. We wish Joey the best of luck, and who knows, maybe he’ll be back one day.
In other news we have tracked the drums and bass for the upcoming split, and will be posting a video in the near future, keep and eye out!
Go see Score 24’s last show tonight at the Vibe Lounge in Rockville Center NY. Pasini and Joey will both be playing. Give Joey the finger and tell him it’s from Matt, it’ll be funny.
Our friend Nick was in Disney and saw a sign on a ride that said “Giant at Large” which was from a old Mickey Mouse cartoon. In the cartoon There was a giant on the loose and the towns people were trying to ind someone to get ride of the giant, when Mickey stuck his head out the window and said how he had killed 9 (referring to ants he had killed). In the end Mickey got rid of the Giant and overcame great odds. The name looked cool and the band was formed after Matt and Cj’s previous band had broken down and broken up in GL. So we liked the theme of rising above the odds.
We are finishing up the last song for our split with Major League and we will probably begin tracking it in a week or so. Our songs on the split are polar opposites, and sound pretty different than the songs that will be on our full length. I’m very excited for everyone to hear the split. We’re planning on a January release, it will be available on vinyl and for digital download on Meadowbrook Records.
